Go Karting and thrills

Today I went go karting for a friends bachelor party and while it was sweet I couldn't help but think about the deeper reasons why I liked it so much.

So my friends Eric and Sheri are getting married on Friday and today was Eric's bachelor party. We went to Pro Kart Indoor up in Blaine and man was it sweet. We had 12 people and we all got to race at the same time and we had almost a full hour in the facility. Overall I ended up placing second but was in first when we started the final. I'll attribute my success to snowmobiling and my tendency to look 3-4 karts ahead of me for trouble. I didn't get into any spinout situations so that is probably why I was in first going into the final. A model of consistency, now if only I could get my lap time lower.

I did have an amazingly fun time and recommend it for all but I couldn't help but think about why I enjoyed it so much. Then again why do I enjoy lots of dangerous, thrilling things? Am I just an adrenaline junky? Why doesn't everyone else get the same feelings from these things as I do? Is there something physiologically different about me that my body releases more endorphins in these situations? I'm not sure what it is but I have always loved speed and danger. My next activity is skydiving in 2 weeks. Why am I so into these things and not everyone else?
