The difference a day makes

The following pictures are a day apart. Kind of hard to believe that it was last weekend. Granted they are a few states away from each other but close in time.

All of last week I was on vacation with my family. We went to Hilton Head, SC. While it was pretty fun, the weather wasn't exactly in our favor. In fact one day while we were touring warships in Charlston it was like 39 degrees and raining. There were a few nice days those including the one when Peter and I rode bikes on the beach. Funny thing is that while we were doing that it was blizzarding in southern Minnesota.

The fam and I flew into the Twin Cities on Saturday night and I promptly swapped for some clean clothes and headed south. I wasn't going to miss the snow. Saturday night I ended up moving feet of snow with the tractor you see below. The thing has rubber tracks for uber-traction. There were times where I was moving 5 feet (deep) of snow. It was like a big sandbox.

Then the next day I went riding. I like riding in kato because the wind always makes big drifts and this storm was no exception. 5 to 6 feet of air was not uncommon that day. I didn't even break anything on my sled. It was a good end to winter. I think spring can start now.
